In this research line, we analyse a regulatory mechanism in Arabidopsis based on gene silencing that contributes to controlling the expression of a broad network of TIR-NBS-LRR genes in the absence of pathogens, thus limiting the impact of constitutive defence gene expression on plant fitness. We investigate the expression of several components of the miR825-5p/MIST1/phasiTNLs regulatory module in different tissues and developmental stages of Arabidopsis, to determine its role in establishing immunity against Pseudomonas syringae.
